Hunter finished 15th at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston over Labor Day weekend. Hunter played solid golf in the opening round finished one under par, 70. On the second day, Hunter felt very good and played an amazing round of golf, shooting a 64, seven under par. He had two eagles on Saturday and played himself into contention to win the Deutsche Bank Championship. In the third round, Hunter shot one over par, 72. In the final round, Hunter got back on track and played consistent golf and finished two under par, 69. He finished the tournament tied for 15th place. Hunter is now ranked 37th in the world.
Hunter is still waiting to hear from Paul Azinger about playing for the Ryder Cup team. “I don’t know what they’re thinking,” Mahan said of Azinger. “I haven’t seen him, I haven’t heard from him. I guess they’re just trying to keep it pretty much under wraps, I think. I don’t think anybody has a clue.”
