This fall, Under Armour had a contest with Maxim Magazine named the New Prototype Golf Challenge. UA asked people to write in and tell them how Under Armour helped them “beat the odds” in a golf game. After reading thousands of entries, Maxim magazine and Under Armour chose Jeff Russell as the contest winner. Jeff wrote a great essay about how Under Armour’s cold gear and rain suit helped him and his father come from nine shots behind the leader to win a golf tournament in the midst of a nor’easter and horrific conditions. Jeff won a roundtrip flight for two to Los Angeles along with 2-night accommodations, and the chance to participate in the golf challenge with Hunter. In November, Jeff and his wife Amber traveled to Los Angeles to play 18 holes with Hunter at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club. Joined by Under Armour clad Maxim models, it was a great event for both Hunter and Jeff.

Hunter, thanks for paying golf with Mr. Russel (Jeff). He is my Gym teacher & good friend. During health class my classmates & I watched the round of golf you & Jeff played at Trump National Golf Club. While watching you play I just have to say it was a beautful place, you played well & Colin sucks. If you are reading this now call Mr. Russel when able and tell him that Wilson sent in a comment about his trip to L.A.Ally | on 9/1/09
This is Ally. Im one of Jeff Russell’s students. He’s an awesome coach, and not to mention, a great human being. I hope he had fun because it sounds like he did. He said Hunter was an incredibly down-to earth person. He showed all his classes all the pictures of his trip. Looks like writing and english may come in handy later in the future! :]
